Our Treatments

Acupuncture stands out as a safe and highly effective method for restoring balance and harmony within the body. By inserting ultra-thin needles at strategic points on the skin, acupuncture aims to regulate the flow of qi, or vital energy, believed to traverse pathways (meridians) throughout the body. This process rebalances your energy flow, promoting recovery from various conditions.

Acupressure is based on one the most ancient principles of healing – that simply touching a specific point on the body will release stress and improve health in the body. In an acupressure session, I apply firm pressure directly to these “points” on your body, which relieves your muscle tension and improves your circulation. This simple and powerful technique has been shown to very effective in treating headaches, backaches, and even insomnia.

Cupping is an ancient Chinese form of alternative medicine in which a local suction is created on the skin to mobilize blood flow in order to promote healing. Suction is created using heat or mechanical devices. Cupping used to treat back and neck pains, stiff muscles, anxiety, fatigue, migraines, rheumatism and even cellulite. For weight loss and cellulite treatments, oils first applied to the skin and then cups are moved up and down the surrounding area. This treatment is also valuable for the lungs and can clear congestion from a common cold or help to control a person’s asthma.

Gua Sha is a healing technique that involves scraping the skin with a massage tool to improve circulation. By gently rubbing a smooth-edged instrument over oiled skin, practitioners aim to stimulate blood flow and release tension trapped within muscles. This process creates temporary reddening of the skin, known as “sha,” which is believed to help the body expel toxins and promote healing. Gua Sha is commonly used to relieve muscle pain and stiffness, reduce inflammation, and enhance immune response.

Sa Am Five Element Acupuncture

Sa Am Five Element Acupuncture

Each type of acupuncture has unique characteristics. Lee selects the most appropriate type according to each patient’s need. However, He uses the Sa Am Five Element Acupuncture more frequently than all others. Sa Am Five Element Acupuncture is very effective because of its application to the fundamental principle of Oriental medicine, which is aiming at the root, the internal organs.

Sa Am five Element Acupuncture was developed by an enlightened Buddhist monk doctor named Master Sa Am during the 16th century in Korea. This is an extremely profound and powerful acupuncture and its effectiveness transcends the limits of conventional types of acupuncture in most cases; its essential contents have not been introduced to the West yet. Lee became convinced of its powerful effectiveness after performing extensive comparative research with other various methods of acupuncture.

The Source of Our Body

Human body is perceived as an integrated system. In the body, the internal organs such as heart, kidney, etc are considered to be the center or source, where energy is produced. The produced energy flows through the meridians, pathways, and to all parts of the body. Body functions like an integral network. For example, the internal organs can be compared to the root of a tree, while the rest of the body parts are like the interrelated branches, leaves, and flowers in this network. If the flowers and leaves wither, it is fundamental to treat not the flowers and the leaves, but the root.

Reating the Root

It is the principle of the Oriental medicine that the root, the internal organ, should be treated as the source of the problem no matter how varied or serious the symptoms appear. For instance, in the case of arthritis, the root of the disorder can be the kidney since the kidney is considered the storage organ where the fundamental energy and essential fluids are produced and preserved. The concept of kidney in the Oriental medicine includes not only the anatomical one of western medicine, but also the storage of energy.

Sa Am Practice

In this acupuncture, the Five element points, which are essential for controlling the internal organs are selected in accordance with the very systematic rules of Yin & Yang and Five element. These points are located on the limbs from the knee to the toes and from the elbow to the fingers. Only four points are used for each organ, so it brings about maximum effect with minimum insertion of needles. In extensive comparative studies and clinical research, this is a highly effective form of acupuncture to treat serious and chronic diseases, such as arthritis, spinal disorders, glaucoma, heart disorders, insomnia, urinary disorders, prostate diseases, stroke and more.

Frequently asked questions

Is acupuncture painful?

Lee's acupuncture treatments are not painful, yet highly effective because he combines techniques from Chinese and Korean acupuncture. As a patient, Lee believes treatments should not be painful, particularly for those who seek relief from their body pain.

Is acupuncture safe?
Yes, acupuncture and its related treatment protocols have been proven to be extremely safe and effective by the World Health Organization and the NCCAOM when acupuncture is performed by a Licensed Acupuncturist. Lee uses only high quality, FDA-approved, pre-sterilized acupuncture needles that are single-use and disposable, which eliminate the risk of disease transmission. Lee is also certified in Clean Needle Technique protocols to ensure acupuncture needles remain sterile prior to insertion.
What is the basis of an acupuncture treatment?
Points on the body discovered thousands of years ago are still selected today for their impact to treat a patient's specific pain condition. A thorough diagnosis and custom treatment plan takes into account the patient's specific ailment. Throughout Asia, acupuncture has been, and continues to be, commonly used to prevent pain conditions and the progression of pain-related ailments and disease.
How can I best benefit from acupuncture during and after treatment?

Take full advantage of your treatment time. Turn off your phone or any device that connects others to you. Often, this is the only time during your busy day to focus on yourself and your needs. Breathe deeply and relax to allow your specific treatment to work for your body. Lee encourages you to ask questions or voice any concerns before, during or after treatment. He knows acupuncture points, but you know your body best, therefore, open communication will help you achieve maximum comfort and your best results.

After acupuncture needles are removed, the benefits of treatment continue. Your acupuncture treatment has started a physiological change within your body, and this would be your opportunity to help sustain these positive changes. Take time to relax after your treatment, if possible.
